President Obama has been traveling the country in an attempt to drum up support for his signature legislation and the most significant step towards establishing a social democracy in the US akin to those in Europe. His stump speeches are sweet music to those who haven’t a problem suckling at the teat of mother government as long as their wants and needs are met. Obama has been promising that those satisfied with their current insurance will not lose it. He’s claiming better care and equal choices, all while spending less. It’s the equivalent of a governmental perpetual motion machine and it’s just as impossible. Were Obama the fictional character Pinocchio he’d need a jack stand to support the ever-increasing weight of his proboscis.
Proof enough can be found in the posts I’ve made the past couple days. Additionally, the National Taxpayers Union Foundation did a linguistic analysis of the bill being circulated. They determined that the bill contains little language that indicates anything in the way of choice or freedom are in the offing but there is a lot to indicate we’ll soon fall under a bureaucratic, if not totalitarian, medical morass.
A summary of their findings:

This doesn’t bode well for the 82% of insured Americans who are satisfied with their current coverage.
Among insured Americans, 82 percent rate their health coverage positively. Among insured people who’ve experienced a serious or chronic illness or injury in their family in the last year, an enormous 91 percent are satisfied with their care, and 86 percent are satisfied with their coverage. This is government for government’s sake — a means to solidify Democratic party control for the foreseeable future.
