NPR = Taxpayer Funded Democratic Propaganda

While the mainstream media generally ignored the Tea Party movement some members took notice long enough to demean and disparage the grassroots effort.  It became de rigueur for hosts and guests on news outlets like CNN and MSNBC to frequently employ the jejune verb  “teabagging” and puerile epithet “teabaggers” to refer to the activities of the low-tax, small-government protesters who were fighting for what Republicans ought to have been.    From Anderson Cooper to Rachel Maddow, a smirk and snicker typically accompanied their disdainful references to the largely conservative campaign.  (For those not in the know we can turn to that vast compendium of unreliable knowledge, Wikipedia, for a definition: ‘Teabagging’ is a slang term for the act of a man placing his scrotum in the mouth or on or around the face (including the top of the head) of another person, often in a repeated in-and-out motion as in irrumatio. The practice resembles dipping a tea bag into a cup of tea.”)

The Obama administration chooses not to deign Fox to be a legitimate news outlet but somehow is perfectly happy bestowing that title on those that would stoop to such an adolescent characterization of true patriots.  That’s all well and good.  We have freedom of the press; news outlets are not required to be unbiased in their reporting.  Doing so used to be customary but that was before Walter Cronkite decided to take Vietnam into his own hands.  Today, as long as the networks can find advertisers they’re free to report as they see fit.

National Public Radio (NPR), as a public news outlet (e.g., subsidized by tax dollars) ought to be completely free from prejudice.  But today NPR crossed two lines, partiality and propriety, with the posting of this video by Mark Fiore on their web site.   Anyone with a modicum of decency, sense of fairness, or respect for taxpayers’ rights would be offended.  It’s true that this  leaves out most of the Obama administration and its minions but surely someone at NPR could have imagined they’d be called on this breach of etiquette and ethics.  Then again, no one has confused NPR for an apolitical news source for quite some time so we shouldn’t be surprised that they’re attacking those in opposition to the  Democratic party’s signature efforts.  One would think NPR is following orders, wouldn’t one?
