Martha Coakley went down to defeat in Massachusetts because of Democratic obstinacy in the face of majority opposition to health care in particular and big government in general. Given that irrefutable fact President Obama either believes we’re clueless or is himself deluded. It takes a special kind of effrontery to sit with George Stephanopoulis and assert this: (watch video)
“The same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept me into office. People are angry, and they’re frustrated. Not just because of what’s happened in the last year or two years, but what’s happened over the last eight years.” — Barack Obama
The pronouncement that he and Scott Brown were elected for the same reasons is an ipsedixitism of epic proportions. I can’t imagine Obama honestly believes that the masses he fooled into believing his hopey-changey mantra applied the same blind faith when voting for Brown.
Worse still is his claim that Brown was elected the first Republican senator since 1972 from the bluest of blue states because of frustration over what’s happened the last eight years. Right. I can just imagine this conversation in a bar somewhere in the middle of area code 617.
“Coakler? Yoah retahded if ya think the Ahm votin foah her. Ahm wikkit pist aftah eight ye-ahs of Bush soes Ahm votin foah Brahn on Tuesdee.”
Well that makes perfect sense — not! (I’m talking about Obama’s logic, not my poor translation of Boston pronunciation.) Face it, Obama will be blaming George Bush three years from now should a Republican be taking the presidential oath of office. Obama admits no errors other than “The only mistake we made was underestimating the size of the mess we’d been left,” so claiming that Democrats are losing elections because the voters are angry at Republicans is in perfect alignment with that arrogance.
We’ve been told Obama is a brilliant man. If he is so darned smart he can’t possibly believe what he’s saying. That leaves one conclusion…
