Comment Policy
I encourage everyone to post comments on The Barbican, but I certainly don’t expect everyone to agree with my viewpoint(s). (In fact, I hope many do not – it makes for a more interesting discussion.)
- Comment Form Guidelines: Please give us a name so we know what to call you. First names only or user names are fine. I’ll also need a legitimate email address so that I know you’re a real person and not a figment of my imagination. I’ll dump any comments that appear to be spam or splog.
- Email Privacy: Your e-mail WILL NOT be published on the blog nor shared in any way. I may use it to privately contact you if necessary.
- Language and Manners: This blog is “family friendly” and comments which include offensive or inappropriate language will be edited or deleted. Play nice.
- A Comment is Conversation: A comment which does not add to the conversation, runs off on a tangent, or kills the conversation may be edited or deleted.
- Limit Links: This blog automatically holds for moderation any comment with more than two links, which may delay your comment from appearing. Any comment with more than four links will be considered spam.
- Covering My Butt: Obscene, abusive, silly, or annoying remarks may be deleted, but the fact that particular comments remain on the site in no way constitutes my endorsement.
- Comment Moderation: First-time comments are held in the moderation queue for approval. After your first comment is approved — you’re golden.
- What To Do If Your Comment Does Not Appear: If you leave a comment and it doesn’t appear within a reasonable time and you are confident that it doesn’t violate these Comment Policies, contact the me using the link at the top of all pages.
- No Personal Attack Comments Permitted: Again, play nice.
- Commenters Blocked: Anyone who violates this Comments Policy may either be sent to a corner or blocked from further commenting.
- All Rights Reserved: I reserve the right to edit, delete, move, mark as spam, fold, spindle, or mutilate any and all comments. If you don’t like it — dems da berries.
- Hold Harmless: All comments on this blog are the responsibility of the commenter, not me. If you submit a comment you are responsible for its content and you hold this site and me, its owner, harmless from any and all repercussions, damages, or liability.
- Trackbacks Are Comments: All trackbacks will be treated in line with our comments policies.
